We are mothers, sisters, daughters – we are educators, nurses, IT professionals – we are teenagers, retirees, and everything in between. Our members come from as far east as Mastic, and as far west as Queens to share a common love of music, and most especially, of Barbershop Harmony.
Our weekly rehearsals are in Levittown, NY, and you’re welcome to join us. Our three hour sessions include voice training, laughter, music notation, laughter, choreography, laughter, and performance dynamics. Oh, and did we mention fun and laughter!!!
We sing a variety of music arranged in the Barbershop style. Our current repertoire includes a show tune, “The Begat”, from Finian’s Rainbow, Cole Porter’s charming ballad, “Do I Love You?”, and the fun up tune, “It’s Raining Men”.
Our growing chorus now has fifty members, and we have room for lots more. We are very friendly, and we take the Sweet Adelines motto, “Harmonize The World” seriously, making each member feel welcome and valued. Our friendship fuels our efforts to produce our beautiful harmonies.
In addition to our weekly rehearsals, we perform at many venues, including libraries and parks. We also perform at charity events, and in our own annual fundraisers.
For extra good times, and to encourage camaraderie and friendship, we also schedule social events, including a picnic and a holiday party.
